They should part the 2 from each other and just add a Wii Remote or Pro Controller in its place and sell the Gamepad by itself  intill the tech for the controller has gone down in price.

So the Wii U could be what it is now but without the Gamepad and sell for $200 basic model or $250 Deluxe, then sell the Gamepad for $100 separate. So if this happened it would be the same boat as the Wii was by being alot cheaper then its competition which alone would steal a good chunk of the market away for them.

I swear to god.....lol. The amout of people calling the GamePad a "Tablet Controller" is facepalm worthy.

An iPad is a "tablet". The GamePad is a controller with a touchscreen. People REALLY need to fucking get this straight. Sorry, but they do.

Miyamoto calls it a "tablet-like device." I won't blame folks for essentially doing what Miyamoto does.

The thing is they wouldnt cut it by $100 to do that since its sold for at a loss at the current price, more like a $50 cut so they could make a profit.

It was a bad idea. The best feature by far is off-tv play, and they could have done that without increasing the cost of the console.

I lost interest in the console as soon as a saw the new controller and the first advertisements.

But if I may ask a question: Is it possible to use the Wii U without the new controller or has the controller to be used with every game? Maybe I will get the Wii U eventually if that damn controller is only an "added bonus" and not the standard controller for every game.

It was the same with the Wii for me. That Wiimote controller was so bad in my favourite genres that my fun with the games was limited (Epic Mickey, Silent Hill, ....). But when using the classic controller I really had fun with the games (Klonoa, etc....).
