Twilight Princess, hands down. To this day, all these years later, I have STILL not played a better game, all around. Best 3D action/adventure game I've ever played. I logged over 80 hours on that game, mostly just dicking around and exploring/having fun between dungeons. Which is why I drool at the thought of what Zelda U COULD be..........
P.S. For reference, I played the GC version. Wanted it, prefer it. TP with traditional controls = A+. And it's still to this day goddamn impressive that they managed to shove such a huge game into a tiny GC disc, not to mention that they managed to squeeze such a gorgeous looking game out of GC hardware, that thing seriously looked better than a lot of Xbox games.
Tell me that this doesn't make you the least bit interested in shooters now.

Gears all the way for me, Oblivion was too repetetive, and while Zelda is good, it's not new. Gears of War, to me, is the definition of melancholy in a video game. It introduced a believable post apolcholictic world, where everything is just gone. Billions dead, mostly by our own hands, and an unknown enemy.
This game is the main reason why I bought a 360, and I don't regret it. One of the best games I've ever played

Okay, the embed appears for you? I can see my embed work in your quote and in my post as I post it, but I can't see it in the thread.

Edit - There is just a delay, works.
Yea, I love this commercial too. After seeing it I watched Donnie Darko, and I loved that film too. The Gears 3 commercial with Blue Heron was also really good too. I think the Gears Trilogy in general is just really awesome, I wish more games were able to potray melancholy environments as well as this. This was my game of 2006 because it was just such a new idea, and so well done. You never see this in a shooter.
Playing Gears Judgement now, and I'm really annoyed, it's crap comared to the original 3, with the 1st game being the best.

Yes, your embed works (at least for me)
Really hard for me to pick between Kh II and Twilight Princess, though I would say Kingdom Hearts had more of an impact on me.
