My thread was not cherry picking at all. I just read hundreds of threads on VGC about how the Xbox One sucks. When I preordered it, it happened to be no. 1 on amazon.de and I just shared it for the lolz. I even said that this is clubbing baby seals.

You on the other hand use amazon as an indicator of future success. It is not. Amazon date is useless, no matter for which country, which system, which game.

Somehow I cannot find any actual claims about "future success" in the original posting. I guess it's just what people are unconsciously reading into threads like yours and this one.

It was you who started this current series of "Look at the Amazon video games bestseller charts" threads, by a time when the position of the Xbox One in one of these bestseller charts was pleasing you. But unfortunately that was a very shoŕt-lived moment, and now you're suffering from the fact that what you were publically raising awareness for no longer speaks in favor of your preferred console, so you're trying to downplay its meaning. The spirits you've called have turned against you.

I think that the XB1 is going to win huge in America. (American) football is the largest sport in the U.S., and Microsoft were smart to cater to this. Their tech is impressive, it just is. The Kinect2 will probably provide what we originally wanted from the first one. And, they are going to have good games, including the multi platform games. Cable tv is huge in the U.S., and they were smart to leverage this in their new console. Gamers, of course, aren't as happy, but MS is planning to make up for that at E3. Me personally, will get the PS4. I loved my 360, but I'm finished with MS's greediness. But, I'm a gamer, first and foremost. Many people will purchase the XB1 because of all of the tv features, plus, it plays games. MS are a smart company. I know for sure, they will win the U.S., by a long shot. I'm not sure about the rest of the world. Lots of people laugh at that, but MS has done incredibly well this gen, better then I thought they would. Yes, I don't think they will ever win the hearts of Japan. But, MS has lots of cash to spend, and the XB1 will be advertised like nothing previously in gaming. It will be interesting to see how it will all unfold. I think we all are. I, for one, am glad to be back with Sony.

But, as far as using Amazon for solid data, I wouldn't recommend it. What are the preorders from Gamestop, or Best Buy? I think that these would be more beneficial.

That is what you read into it. Nothing more.

There were a billion amazon-threads and I laughed at every single one of them - including mine. The point is when I did this from 2009 - 2012 nobody noticed. But now it must be that I am so bitter that one retailer shows slightly better preorders for the PS4... Heck, I even said I am clubbing baby seals in my own thread.

Yeah, but whatever makes you happy, but thankfully I don't need to prove your interpretation of my thoughts wrong.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Every console manufacturers do spend billions in advertising stuff. But at the end of the day it's the customer who has to buy the product and no matter how many millions are wasted, the quality is quintessential. Kinect was desired to create a huge impact, it did deliver to some extent but not upto the mark as Microsoft wanted it to be. With XB1, I hope this E3 reveal counts and they have to deliver. To me personally PS4 already looks like the contendor for the top spot at E3.

Interesting how bent out of shape some people are over a thread that doesn't really mean anything.

Only the most hard core and dedicated gamers pre-order or buy a console system at its highest price in its first year. The early first year adopters pay a premium for the privilege to be the first to experience a new console system. The early pre-order figures clearly proves Sony fans are more dedicated than Microsoft fans in regards to early purchase of new console systems. Sony fans pre-order more games in most genres except for Microsoft being dominant in the shooter game genre, XBox/360 are regarded as the console of choice for shooter games, PS2/3 are regarded as all rounders that dominant most genres except shooters.
