Forums - Microsoft - XBOX ONE requires a fee to play used games. And if the game is new the fee is $60!

Microsoft has confirmed that all Xbox One games will require mandatory installation onto the system's hard drive and, to install the same disc onto another user's drive, a fee must be paid.

So I wonder,  If it is a necessity for the game to be attached to your Live account in order to install the game (if not, you cant play).  What happens if you dont have internet connection to register your game for the first time??

It looks to me that it is still Always on.

UPDATE:
If you want to bring a game disc to a friend's house and play there? You'll have to pay a fee—and not just some sort of activation fee, but the actual price of that game—in order to use a game's code on a friend's account. Think of it like a new game, Harrison says.
"The bits that are on that disc, you can give it to your friend and they can install it on an Xbox One," he said. "They would then have to purchase the right to play that game through Xbox Live."
"They would be paying the same price we paid, or less?" we asked.
"Let’s assume it’s a new game, so the answer is yes, it will be the same price," Harrison said.

So true, that is some lame ass shit Microsoft...

I'm curious to how this works and how Gamestop will feel the impact. Are we talking a $10 fee or more?
And as others said: What if your accounts gets unjustifiably hacked or you get banned? Everything is worth nothing? Also so many features dependent on the cloud.

This and not being backwards hurt my soul today.

It's just that simple.

Hello PS4. Assuming they don't do it

That just sealed my decision to go for a PS4. Fees if I want to lend a game from a friend? Nope, not gonna pay that.

I wouldn't be too optimistic about that as Sony was on the forefront of online-passes. Or maybe they just keep those and don't go into this new "innovation".

So far the PS4 does not do it.    If you read the whole op, you would notice there is another bad thing attached to this.  In order to install a game so you can play; you need to register it to your live account so, what if you dont have internet to connect to XBL?? You cant play

Sony still uses online pass for their first party games.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
