Indeed, FF is on a sharp decline in Japan. It is failing to break to the masses this time around which is unexpected. There are factors that will hopefully help. TGS is still coming, also no TV advertising as of right now. No expecting a miracle but at least XV will start to move. It is going almost flat on the graph right now.

Putting Lightning Returns and Type-0 (PSP) on the chart must be great.

Fabula Nova Crystallis was the right direction for the series afterall.

13 sold 7M, that first. Unless you wanna count the PC release into it, which is simply stupid tbh.

 

Second, XV will sell more than 13 everywhere outside of Japan. And just because 13 sold well doesn`t mean it did no damage to the brand. You really must be blinded to think that way. The Nova Chrystallis ruined the reputation of the franchise.

On what do you base this bullish prediction. The only difference so far is that we actually have some indication of notable decline in Japan. On the other hand we have nothing that indicates a notable increase in popularity in US or Europe.

Apparently only Japan matters for a game mostly aimed at western markets.

Its sales in Japan don't matter as much as you think.

What Square Enix wants first and foremost is for the game to be loved by gamers. That's how they want to repair the brand.

Sales in the US and Europe will be more telling.
