Can they make it Sonic 3 instead of the first game, that would be much better.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles would be best...

Sega said this is the first of many 3D classics they are re-releasing.

So obviously they will do Sonic 2 & 3 and other Sega games.

TurboGrafx16 or whatever it's called will also make a lot of 3D classics that should get release this year too with full 3D movies from Disney (who owns Marvel) & Warner Bros. (who owns DC) & Dreamworks & probably some more studios by now.

I'd love to see one of the original Phantasy Star RPGs done for the 3DS, preferably my favorite Phantasy Star 4. But Shining Force 3 would also be welcomed.

SEGA has announced that a remake of the original Sonic the Hedgehog will soon be hitting the Nintendo 3DS. The updated game features stereoscopic 3D visuals, and in it, Sonic is equipped with his Spin Dash move and Homing Attack. Arguably, the most notable additions are the inclusions of a save function and the ability to personalize each button’s function. 3D Sonic the Hedgehog will be released in Japan next week, on May 15th, on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS

pretty cool, I like the look of simple sprite based games in 3D (like VVVVVV) and a portable version of Sonic 1 ? I´m in

Gah!

Sega, why are you so enthralled about adding the homing attack to EVERY Sonic game? (including the 2D sidescrollers). The whole POINT of the homing attack was to account for the lack of depth perception on 3D Sonic. Now it's on 2D versions of the game and is nothing more than a "cheap whore" attack.

(I take it this game is still a sidescroller with 3D visuals ala Classic Sonic Generations/Sonic 4)

More detailed list of features:
-Level Select where you can select with level to play at any moment,
-a Save State option where you can save the game and restart it just where you’ve left it the next time you play it,
-selectable Japanese or west release of the game so you can choose if you want to see water rippling effects on Labyrinth Zone or not, -selectable Spindash,
-customizable controls, a new screen mode who let you play the game just like if you were playing it right off an old CRT screen, with blurred image that imitates RF output and a marquee that imitates an old TV combed image,
-the ability to adjust music balance between PSG and FM audio and fixed balances to simulate the first and the second model of Mega Drive music slight differences,
-and, of course, the trademark stereoscopic 3D image, this time with Stereognostic option, so you can choose if you like to see 3D as an added deepness to the back of the 3D screen, or if you want the image to pop out to you.

So I can play this game like Samurai Sword Destiny.

I think I will choose for everything to pop-out since its just 2D sprites, like Samurai Sword Destiny (which is mandatory in this game).
