Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Madden a NO GO for Wii U this year. EA reaffirms it still has a "Strong Partnership" with Nintendo.

First Activision now EA, maybe their waiting til the PS4 and 720 release. Activision consider Wii U as a next gen console because they pretty much confirm that the PS4 Wii U and 720 will be getting a more advance version of Call of Duty Ghost. Maybe EA is doing the same with Madden for next gen consoles.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

I can't wait for EA to lose the NFL license. A move like this is certainly going to put it in at least a little jeopardy.

I dont see that happening anytime soon, lets be real its not like they are stiffing some important console, they are stiffing the Wii U and (maybe the Vita), if the general populace doesnt seem to care about these two systems, i bet the NFL doesnt either.

Ea can have a "strong partnership" with my crotch reigon.

Like some immature 8 year old, they're still holding a grudge at Nintendo for refusing to use their crappy online system for Wii U.

OT: If they want to lose out on 300-500 thousand in eventual sales plus digital, then whatever.

do you really think that if they release madden 14 it will sell 1000-2000% better than madden 13 (30k) ?
if yes then yeah its a loss for ea ...

The Wii U is a pile of flop but I can't help but be annoyed at EA.

Specifically because Madden would work so well with gamepad. Having said that I'm not a Madden fan and maybe not a single Wii U owner actually cares about this news. In that case I guess EA have saved some money, I really do hope they follow their word and bring original titles to the Wii U like they did to the Wii.

Madden 13 was a bad port released months after the original release on a console with a userbase of zero. With ~30 other games (some of which were far better) released at the same time diverting the attention of the buyers the poor sales were not exactly suprising.

With a good port released at the same time as the other versions I'd say 150k sales would be reasonable, maybe more.

150k sounds way more reasonable and realistic, but 500k ? thats like every 3rd wiiu user in the us is buying that game.
I think it would sell around 100k at least if they could integrate the gamepad well ...

but even good ports dont really sell that well like nfs ...
I think nfs for wiiu is the best version by far, and i think it was released within 1week compared to other versions.
but 10k sold is just sad ...

Actually it was released six months after the other versions, but I agree that 10k sales are really sad...

ah thx for clarifying it ... my memory is so bad.

But maybe if the wiiu will sell really well this holidays we might see a madden next year.
so its not an entirely lost franchise for now. but time will tell.
