I honestly think Nintendo is downplaying it's E3 conference so when the actual conference occurs it blows everyone away both literally and figuratively.

If not than I agree with what Kaz Hirai's parody twitter account had to say about Nintendo's E3 conference:

https://mobile.twitter.com/KazHiraiCEO

They are going to be Capcom for the year.

So they are starting to behave like a third party company in e3.

Ironically, yes. I move to fire Iwata, but thats just me.

I don't know, that seems a little extreme to me. Maybe they should take his presidency away but to actually set him on fire, that's just too crue

Heh...heh...wait! Stop making me think dark thoughts! Just take away his presidency, hes truly hurting Nintendo. heres something I haven't told any of you ever. I haven't liked Nintendos direction ever since Iwata became president. Yes...the gamecube....all his fault.

So no show at E3? The future of Nintendo looks grim.

I can see how stories get so totally blown out of proportion. Nintendo say they're going to change up the way they present at e3 and focus on smaller presentations that are aimed to individual stakeholders, rather than have one large boring presentation aimed at everyone. Because of this you think the future of Nintendo looks grim?

Let me paint a picture for you.

Wrestlemania's main event turns into a one on one match because one main eventer in the arranged triple threat match dodged the main event to fight a lesser opponent.

Get it?

I get that you think selling consoles is equivalent to a wrestling match. Heads up, it's not.

And you have no evidence that the way Nintendo are going to present at E3 this year won't turn out to be a more effective method of getting the message out to consumers and the media.

Yes, I do have proof that Nintendo Direct doesnt meant shit. Look at their Youtube hits....which are not impressive at all. I know children who have more hits.

Okay, I see you're totally confused with what's happening. Nintendo aren't dropping E3 and only doing Nintendo Directs. They're just changing the way they present at E3. Numerous smaller presentations aimed at individual stakeholders.

...I am not confused. You just stated the problem and you defend this....w...w.w.why? Nintendo is going to hide behind the 3DS and million or less Nintendo fans who most likely already have both of their products, instead of facing Sony and Microsoft in front of the world.

...you've totally lost me now.

Here's a summary. Nintendo aren't dropping E3. They're just CHANGING how they present at E3.

Oh I get it now, you're still confusing sales with wrestling.

@S.T.A.G.E

Sorry, my IE6 at work seems to fuck up the quotes badly, so I'll respond this way instead.

If the ND only reaches a small amount of Nintendo fans, then why can I read a summary of any given ND ten minutes after the stream ended on every single gaming website I know? Why was pretty much everyone hyped about "A Link to the Past 2" within an hour after the ND ended? I'm sorry, but you severly underestimate the amount of people a Nintendo Direct reaches.

Yes....they are showing off their offerings, two a much smaller community of people. Hence the analogy of a turtle hiding in its shell. No one denied they are chaning how they present at E3. There WILL BE NO BIG PRESENTATION. Its going to be between the shareholders, booth and the same old Nintendo Direct for the fans.

E3 major announcements flood gaming websites but the major conferences get major media attention.

IE: Sony showed a condensed video on youtube of their PS4 unveiling that reached twenty-eight million people. People saw it on the news and the news where I live was already hyping the 720 launch and talking about how Microsoft and Amazon might be going head to head for setbox domination for the living room. If I was a businessman I would consider ND a cop out. Nintendo is doing exact opposite of what they did last gen which is try to reach as many people as possible. Now they are going niche and seem at peace with that. For them to think ND will get them more exposure is delusional. Nintendo isnt a hot topic on Youtube and ND's never have been.

You can also look at it this way...

Nintendo is that confident it doesnt need a presser! Cause they are not worried at all about anything the competition brings!..

... but nopes its cool to view them with doom googles right.
