Comunication is a necessity, while gaming is a comodity.   What is more powerful spec-wise an Xperia Z and a VITA?  Because maybe it would be better for sony to release a modified Xperia Z that can play also VITA games, so that the userbase expands and we can get more games :D

What is the highest selling Sony handset? I remember back in, I believe it was 2004, they had a pretty popular one. It was that slide up one with the Walkman integration, I think.

I think it's fine...less competition on TMobile if I'm not mistaken.

I think they should put emphasis in making a great phone and then add the gaming functionality.  People buy this smart phones, because they are great phones that also do a great variety of things.   So if they do a device with emphasis in gaming, with not so great phone and apps functions, it will sell like crap, like the previous xperia play.

So they should make an Xperia VITA, for example, that is a great smartphone, but it also offers the possibility of playing VITA games.   People would buy it because of the great smartphone functions, and then when they realized they can play amazing games on their phones, sales of those games will increase, and the VITA platform will began to to see more support from publishers.  And obviously considering it has VITA functionality it would play PS1, PSP, and VITA games.

The problem with the VITA is the it is only a gaming device with some non gaming apps that are quite limited, and do not offer a lot more things to do.   And people dont see gaming as a priority, so in order for it to sell it needs to cost less, and get more games so that it could actually be a great gaming device.
