How much did the PS3 ship last fy ethomaz?

The profitability is really purely smoke and mirrors. The company itself obviously didn't actually make money it just sold off more in assets then it acquired, and issued more bonds to cover day to day operating expenses. In the long run all they have done is increased their overhead, and increased their debt load. This is actually getting tiresome. It really isn't something you can spin.

As for the shipments, and mind you I really couldn't care less. The last generation ended when the Wii U shipped. The discontinuation of PS2 production would actually go a long way to explaining these numbers. Sony would have to use all of the components they had left which they have to order in large bulk, and they would have zero disincentive to jam the sales channel. As counter intuitive as it may sound. If they were discontinuing the line their production would really ramp up to tie up all of the loose ends. Is that really the case I don't know, but the sales being that high isn't really proof of anything one way or the other. Unless Sony decides to qualify.

The most telling thing about this statement is that Sony still hasn't turned its gaming division around, and that in the end doesn't bode well for the division. It only makes it that much longer that it could become the next part of the company that the management will decide to sell off. Given that Sony isn't really making any more off of it.

Those two new consoles won't be a threat at all to Ninty. They will most likely be pretty expensive and no matter what their launch line ups are they don't have anything that can go toe to toe with two new Mario games. A price cut will also most likely be introduced so no the WiiUs only threat is the 360 and PS3 which won't affect WiiU either since they'll be selling to different fanbases. Do you not remember the Vita launch not affecting the 3DS at all? Because they sold to different fanbases and Vita sold pretty well at launch because it sold to different fanbases. I dont see why people think Ninty is expecting too much? If the WiiU doesn't have a monster holiday then Ninty's games have definitely decreased in popularity, it won't be because of the competing plats. They are selling to different fanbases especially this early in the gen. I highly doubt all of Ninty's fans have bought a WiiU yet.

what's getting Tiresome is your continued statement about Sony getting rid of the Playstation Part of their company when all indication its the large anvil being the TV part of their company getting the axe! FOR 9  STRAIGHT YEARS OF LOSS. when Playstation part is showing Profit, and you expect the company to Axe a part that is showing Profit? How in the freaking world does that even make a lick of sense?

They would sell off, the TV biz before they sell off playstation, and you keep saying they would sell off playstation is just wishful thinking!

TV is no longer a 3 pillar part of their Biz, like it or not the TV part with 9 straight years of Loss'es will be getting the AXE if anything.

yes sell off a part of the company that show's profit that they just spent billions in r&d on with the PS4+PSN+ GaiKai + spending more millions in R&D and all the While Sony loosing much more money in a Market dynamic that has pretty much bottom out for anyone else except for Samsung and that's TV's. yea lets Axe part of the company that makes a Profit and not the freaking large heavy Anvil that is the TV sucking up 9 years worth of Profit's.
