Great deal, too bad i have them already. Though i never played any of the dlc for the first one...

Would have been great if it had the DLC in it. People get easy burned with this kind of offers. They don't want to buy a game for 20$ then see it on sale for 10$ as download.. They download it and end up buying all the DLC spending more than 30$ in total...more than the 20$ version who had all the DLC in it.. Happened with me with Fable 2 =p.

The borderlands franchise has been the biggest positive surprise I've had in the last two-three years. I can only recommend those games, even if they don't include the DLC. You don't have to purchase it to enjoy two great games.

 Its three pieces of DLC for 3.99. I've seen worse, like Mass Effect DLC for upwards $9.99-14.99. No one is getting burned. That is easily a $40 deal alone for Borderlands 1&2. This is a Valve level deal.

For anyone that's played both...how necessary is it to play the first? Are they similar enough that I would just get burnt out playing them back to back?

Yeah me and the gf have been wanting to get blands 2 for a while. We played it during a snow day and loved it. 20$ is right up my alley, and I'll probably buy the dlc as well.
