Both X720 and PS4 having similar CPUs will make this upcoming generation interesting.

Both X360 and PS3 has silmilar CPUs

Xenon is a CPU used in the Xbox 360 game console. The processor, is based on IBM PowerPC instruction set architecture, consisting of three independent processor cores on a single die. These cores are slightly modified versions of the PPE in the Cell processor used on the PlayStation 3.

The PS3's CELL processor is very different to the xbox 360

Its why a lot of developers had trouble/hated making ports for the PS3

Theres also news of MS releasing a $99 360 in the near future to compensate for lack of backwards compatibility.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

The difference in Cell was the 8 SPUs... not the main core (PPE)... there are completely different CPUs.

More precisely: One of the 8 spes is disabled, another one is for the os which leaves 6 available to devs.

IIRC the OG XBOX used an x86, i wonder if it would help getting better emulation of the games, maybe see more of them selling on XBL. I hope they work out a good 360 software emulator too, Would love to not need both, I literally have 11 consoles hooked up to my tv (messy fire hazard LOL)
