Forums - Sony Discussion - Atelier Escha & Logy PS3 Scans (AMAZING anime-style graphics) (Up: Boxart and Gameplay Videos)

Looks like they're improving their 3D character models again but I'm not sure I'd agree with the OP. What I do find interesting however is that you can choose between two different protagonists. I'm really curious how this'll change the story since the narratives for Atelier Games for the last four were all very personal endeavors like finding your lost mother or building up your kingdom. Sounds like the game won't completely change upon your choice so I'm curious how they'll make the main storyline's quest work for both characters.

As always, too, I'm curious about how they'll tweak the mechanics this time around.

I can't really tell how amazing those graphics are from the scans, but I like the fact that it's being made with the Dynasty Warriors engine. Can Atelier Musou be far off?!

Screw that, I want Atelier Sacrifice.

Still, the dual protagonist idea is interesting.  Just not as interesting as it would be with more darkness and blood.

It seemed Gust was trying to push more story content and world setting with Ayesha, hopefully they continue that with this game and go back to story focused alchemy RPGs like the Atelier Iris series with the new Dusk series.

The Arland series was fun, but it was too lighthearted and character focused rather than having a strong story to follow. The settings were also fairly weak in comparison to Ayesha.

Since Gust has stated they are interested in continuing both Arland and Dusk series at the same time, hopefully that means we will get the best of both worlds. Arland is likely to continue as a Vita series since Gust is very pleased with Vita sales on Totori and Meruru Plus (by the way there will be no Rorona Plus as stated in a Meruru countdown video, a Rorona 2 or full remake is likely). Dusk will likely stay PS3.

I don't know. I just bought Totori on my Vita a few days ago and I only see a slightly upgraded look. Game doesn't look bad, but this new one doesn't look amazing. It just looks better then what you'd expect from a niche title these days.

OMG, Amaaaaazing news, thank you!!!

EDIT: My computer is not allowing me to quote for some reason.

@Rutea

For some reason I think you think that I'm saying it is a bad game when I'm not. THe title said that it was amazing anime graphics so I came in here expecting that. I came in and it wasn't. It looks like most anime that I have seen.

Yes it looks better than the previous game. Speaking of not standing out, I don't think Persona 4 stands out design wise beyond Teddy but I also think it is one of the best games I've ever played. I hope this game is good as well.

You can criticize me and that is fine and I also don't think my opinions are golden. I may seem arrogant time from time but if I'm wrong I'll admit that I'm wrong. In this case I just presented an opinion. Right or wrong that is all it is. Just like you voiced your opinion on me.

@Soriku I can't view the picture at the moment :/ I will when I get home. And yeah I'm sure there is a lot of greatly designed anime :) I play a few JRPG's every once and a while but I can't say that I know a lot about it either. I think you are the one that was telling me about The Persona's main series? I forget the name of it but I've been pretty excited for it to come to the 3DS :)

FYI I was just talking about the character models being good for an anime-style game, not that the character designs themselves were good (I think they're decent). If you look at the third scan, the in-game character model for the girl basically matches the her art which is awesome because I think the line between what anime looks like and what in-game graphics looks like should become as blurred as possible. Ninokuni is a good example of this too.

JRPGs, like anime, have a great variety of different character designs. Even if you don't like some designs you should still be able to find a bunch that you like.

And yeah I was talking about the Shin Megami Tensei series to you. The SMT series has pretty good art and SMT IV is no different.

Yeah I can see that.  It really is amazing how far technology has become.  Pretty soon all animated stuff may look very close to shows that we see on TV :D  And wow Ni No Kuni is definitely the closest we have seen yet in my opinion.  One of the most beautiful games I have ever played.  I thought the gameplay was ok, but the graphics and animations was top notch.  Characters was done really well too from personality to design.

Oh yeah I completely agree with you on that.

Yeah I for some reason can never think of the name of that game haha.  Im pretty interested to see how they are crossing it with Fire Emblem as well.

Hahahahahahahaha you use bing.

Yes.  Works the same as google and I get rewards so I thought why not.

Color me impressed. Dual protagonist and dynasty warriors engine.
I will surely play as Logy and I also hope that with Mana khemia included with the game. We will see a Mana Khemia 3 in the future. /Crosses fingers
