I have been saying the site should just delete the SW numbers because they are so inaccurate and used to fan a fanboy war and they should stick with HW.

Also, I would like to point this out to those saying 120mil budget would never turn profitable. I bet a FF in Japan being DL could gain near 50% of total sales in first week like NPD reports for US. Especially since Japan has faster connection speed then US and Ps4 will be more about DL/streaming. FF13 had 1.5mil FW in Japan and if SE cut out the middle man and put it on PSN and got half of those sales while increasing the price to $70 then SE would probably get near 40mil alone on DL first week in Japan.

If I remember the price of FFXIII was like 8900 yen at launch. So it already is 70$, Some games in japan are priced crazy high anyways. But putting it as a PSN might increase profits a bit.

Damn, if 120mil budget is true though I wouldnt be too surprised if SE raised the price even more and got the same sales.

I find the 120 mill figure hard to swallow for Versus  especially since people where pulled off it for FF13 -2 and 3 the 120 mill makes sense if it includes all the Fabula Nova crystallis  labeled games as to the near 50% digital  sales it seems strange especially since just about all the media and a lot of developers and publishers usually mention 20 -30% with it rising over time . it's like they took PC with steam and origin that pushes up the digital % and used those guesstimates  across all digital sales .

Aha!

FFVXIII PC Confirmed!

jk.

Around the Network

I'd hardly say they're pointless. I would say that they need to start officially fully tracking digital sales. I'm sure there are several Wii titles, for example, that may have lackluster physical sales, but many people may have decided to download them. Digital is never going to fully overtake physical, I think, because too many people, myself included, like having physical discs, booklets, cover art, etc. A lot of people really value having physical "game rooms" and game collections, etc. BUT, they should be actually tracking digital sales more, kind of ridiculous that they don't.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

The numbers do seem terribly tracked. People spend so much time arguing and half the time no one even bothers to notice that what they thought was right turns out wrong months later.
