Forums - Gaming Discussion - EA refusing a refund when they already said they would via press release.

Due to EA having largely crap games, blacklist of WiiU, and now this... I am 100% done with EA. I will have to forgo my favorite shooter series until this changes.

If they made crap games it wouldn't be a problem at all.  The trouble is that they make some very good games, which his why people continue to buy them.  I've had my troubles with them, too, but it's often worth it.

No, they've bought studios that made some pretty great games. Then ruined them or provided crap service to those games.

Looks like EA is trying to stay out in front after winning the worst 3rd party company award!

I like when people act sensationalist and don't read WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

EA promised refunds to those who had not utilised pre-order bonuses + activated codes on Origin. THIS GUY DID. THEREFORE HE DOES NOT GET A REFUND.

Not to say the chat went well, but seriously.

1. guy pre-orders games.
2. uses pre-order incentives
3. activates game, despite all the issue going on
4. gets mad theres issues
5. demands refunds, despite activation.

I think we all know he installed the game fully. But that is no excuse. Its a digital game tied to origin. Simply delete the game and any pre-order bonuses from the account and refund.

So, they should refund him, because he can't read?

Yep. Sounds like America.

More like he probably didn't know it was a shit game (aka you can't log on and actually play the game) till he installed it and tried to play it.  Kids these days... They expect games to actually work...

EA: Sorry, you can always ask for a refund.

Consumers: We want refunds.

EA: We said you could always ask for a refund, not that you could get one!

Damn, beat me to it.

Fine print, bitches!

It's a shit game because a bunch of Europeans used VPNs to access american servers and overload them? True story, that clearly makes it shit.

and I agree, his reading skills are so bad. It probably was hard for him to check twitter, amazon, ign, gamestop, facebook or any other sites givng early impressions on the servers.

Indeed!

wtf? He installed a game only to later be stripped indefinitely of being able to play it. He's asking for a refund very soon afterward.

If I go buy a TV and take it home. Within 30days I can take it back for a refund without a damn valid reason.

Why is digital content different? There isn't even any restocking or lost packaging here. Simply remove the digital content from the account and refund. What were the pre-order incentives? Make him simply pay the value of those if they equated to a sale price or something. Point is, there is a way to refund and work around all this. Why should he and others be punished because they pre-ordered?

He should have known that games sometimes are unable to run through no fault of the user. EA used lube, what more do you want?

ha, that dude makes no sense and then to toss out the national shit. fucking ...

Being a pre-order person should never allow the company to give you a bag of shit that you have no recourse from. I guess being American just makes me expect shit to work when I pay for it.
