Rumors: “Very Nice” AAA Game Coming to PS4 Late Next Year and More (UPDATED)

by Giuseppe Nelva (2 hours ago) 45

Today industry insider Shinobi602 has been busy sharing, and he relayed quite a few pieces of information from  some of his sources, that he previously mentioned being from within development studios, and a have a good track record with the info they provide.

First of all, he mentioned that something “Very nice” is coming to PS4 on the medium term:

Ohh, something very nice coming late next year. Don’t be afraid. #ps4

When asked, he specified that he’s talking about an AAA title.

It’s being decided whether to show (at E3), I REALLY want to talk about it but…have to respect.

Shinobi also mentioned that an unannounced game by EA is going to be revealed at a behind-closed-door event in a couple weeks. It’s important to mention that this may not be related with the games for PS4 teased above, and could be a completely separate title.

In a couple weeks. Folks being invited to EA for an “inside look” at a game releasing later this year, providing feedback. Unannounced.

He then teased something quite cryptic:

I’m being told some things that are putting a grin from ear to ear right now. Shiiiiiit.

When asked what he was talking about, he tweeted the following picture. It isn’t from a game itself, so it’s most likely a clue that you can have fun deciphering. Apparently “space” is the key, and knowing Shinobi, I have a rather clear idea of what it could be.

Finally, Shinobi talked about a couple neat details he heard about the upcoming Watch_Dogs.

Also hearing so many good things about Watch Dogs. AR games sound like a ton of badass games all in one.

Neat detail, starts raining, civilian lady calls for a cab, pulls up & splashes a puddle all over her, she starts yelling at him.

Apartments for Aiden, similar to GTAV. Also has a PC which you can access.

Looks like we’re in for a few surprises soon enough. Can’t say I’m unhappy about that. I love surprises.

Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition feels like a completely different game on PS4… and it’s amazing

Posted by: Lance Liebl

I played a ton of Diablo 2. While I didn’t love Diablo 3Reaper of Souls fixed a lot that was wrong with the game and ultimately made it the game I wantedDiablo 3 to be from the get-go. The full Diablo 3 experience is coming soon to the PlayStation 4 in the form of the Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition

Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition is everything from the PC version, complete with Reaper of Souls and the Loot 2.0 system. But there's so much more that completely changes how the game works in the conversion from PC to PlayStation 4.

The first thing you'll probably notice is the new view. Since Ultimate Evil Edition has to be able to support two players on the same screen when playing locally, the view is a lot closer to the action, making it feel very reminiscent of Baldur's Gate -- which is awesome! Something as simple as changing up the view makes a huge difference. It's more in your face and gets you closer to the action, but it also lets you take in the smoothness of the environment and how great the graphics are. Everything feels more polished, and even with tons of enemies surrounding you, framerate was exceptional and there was never any slowdown. Particles, player models, spell effects, everything is how you'd expect them to look coming over to the PlayStation 4.

The new camera angle also fits perfectly with the controls of the game. It feels a lot more like an action RPG with the PS4 controller than it ever did with the keyboard and mouse on PC. I plays a bit like a twinstick shooter, with the left stick controlling movement and the right stick aiming spells, and your spells being controlled by triggers and face buttons. I actually felt that I had more control over movement with the PS4 controller than I did on PC, but it took a little while to get aiming down.

Players all get their own assigned loot, too, but  anyone can pick it up and it automatically goes to the correct player's inventory. Blizzard really thought of quality of life features when bringing the game to console. And little things like the light on the controller being the same color as the ring around your player are neat. Not to mention, every customization option on PC is present on the PS4, like if you want to see all damage or just crits, or if you want enemies' life bars up at all times.

Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition on the PlayStation 4 looks great, plays great, and feels like a whole new game. A game that I want to play. Local multiplayer is huge, as it harkens back to the days of Baldur's Gate when my friends and I would huddle around a TV and play for hours. Except this time the TV is a 60-inch LED 1080p Samsung and we're playing on the PS4. I own the game on PC, but I could totally see myself playing exclusively on the PlayStation 4 when it launches.

There's no release date yet, but Blizzard has said the game will be out on PS4 later in 2014. I tried to get a date, but they just smiled at me. They're good at that.

Leaked PlayStation Now Beta Loading Times for All the New Games Are Consistent Under 40 Seconds

by Giuseppe Nelva (1 hour ago) 13

Yesterday we reported about the new games made available to beta testers of Sony’s upcoming streaming service PlayStation Now, and today our faithful tipster came back with more goodies, relaying the loading times for every title from the launch of the game to the splash screen.

Here’s the full list. Between parenthesis you can see the old loading times from phase 1 and 2 of the beta, clocked by the same person on the same internet connection roughly at the same time of the day:

  • Puppeteer – 39.57 (previously 44.16)
  • Eat Them! – 37.41
  • PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap – 38.49
  • PixelJunk Shooter 2 – 37.63
  • BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger – 33.20
  • Ben 10 Omniverse 2 – 34.59
  • Contrast – 34.66
  • Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness – 33.12
  • Catherine – 33.44
  • El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron – 38.84
  • Fuel – 35.56
  • GRID – 34.82
  • Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear – 38.16
  • LUMINES: Supernova – 37.80
  • NiGHTS into dreams – 36.45
  • Retro/Grade – 49.21
  • Sacred Citadel – 35.21
  • Saints Row: The Third – 36.60
  • Skullgirls Encore – 36.27
  • Sniper Elite V2 – 37.34

Of course we should consider that loading times will vary from user to user depending on the bandwidth available, but this list is a pretty good indication of what we can expect.

Puppeteer is the only returning game from the first phase of the beta, ad it loads faster by about 5 seconds. What’s most interesting is that the new times confirm the trend shown in the second phase of the beta. At that time only three games of 19 took over 40 seconds to load. This time we got only Retro/Grade lagging behind

A loading time under 40 seconds for almost every game is quite acceptable, considering that normal games played locally don’t take that much less to reach the splash screen, but we’re still in beta (or better they are, since I’m in Europe, and there’s still no clear news on when we’ll get the service here), so there’s further room for improvement.

Uncharted at E3 would be amazing. I'm slowly being convinced to buy diablo 3 for PS4 even though I have Reaper of Souls on PC.

KINETIC TEST FOOTAGE RELEASED FOR UNREAL ENGINE 4 THIRD-PERSON TWIN-STICK SHOOTER ‘NELO’

Posted by Steve Hannley on 21 Apr 2014

As evidenced by this article’s long-winded title, Nelo is a lot of things: a twin-stick shooter, a third-person action game and a showcase for the power of Unreal Engine 4. But seeing it in action proves that it’s a very unique project indeed. Nearly five minutes of test footage was released for the game that shows off is absolutely blistering framerate as well as the intriguing viewpoint sifts throughout the action.

Nelo takes place in distance space where an alien species has been fighting their own A.I. creations to find resourceful planets. The main weapon is a telekinetic controlled mechanical hand that allows the protagonist to wield four conventional weapons at once.

Check out the footage below, which while blurry is none less impressive:
