Forums - General Discussion - I just sent this to Fox News.

I will let you know if I hear back from them:

Dear Fox News,
I have been a long time supporter of your stations, but due to a recent story, I have lost all confidence in you.

You recently did a story on the Xbox 360 and a game called Mass Effect. While I do not care so much about how you portrayed the game (I have played it however), I am far more concerned about how you presented untruths as facts.

Every arguing point made against the game false. No one on the panel (other than the man defending it), has ever played the game, and I suspect none of them talked to anyone who ever had.

To run a story, presenting information to the public with such little research done alarms me. I now realize what your standards are for fact finding, and thus can never trust anything told to me by your station.

Sadly, I'm in the same boat you are. Its a big load of crow to have to swallow, knowing that your favorite news station really is full of shit, just like everybody on the internet always said.

Witty signature here...

Wii: 14 million by January  I sold myself short

360: 13 million by January I sold microsoft short, but not as bad as Nintendo.

PS3: 6 million by January. If it approaches 8 mil i'll eat crow  Mnn Crow is yummy.

With these results, I've determined that I suck at long term predictions, and will not long term predict anything ever again. Thus spaketh Crono.

^^ C'mon you should've realised that ages ago.

I'm from the UK, and even I knew everything they say is a crock of sh*t.

Ya, what is the background of this?
Maybe you can fill us in... Just wonderin!

360 IS OPERATIONAL AFTER 37 DAYS!

Seriously, Fox doesn't care. They lie on purpose. I prefer honestly, and Fox has the lowest morality of any major media outlet.  I'm a family man and I believe in values.  Fox is the *opposite*.

Fox routinely presents 'information' that will help you make up your mind in the right way. It purposefully misleads the viewer to help the viewer come to the 'correct' conclusion. In this case, the correct conclusion was that graphic interactive sex is getting into mainstream console games via Mass Effect and we have to stop it.

It's a modern day example of 'the ends justifies the means'. Fox knows that Mass Effect, and M-Rated video games in general, are evil and have been moving towards evil things. They can help to stop them by spreading this particular disinformation. And because their ends are honorable (stopping evil video games from poisoning our minds), however they wish to do it is justified.

And those who follow Fox and trust them aren't willing to admit that Fox misleads in every area just like this, and that they're willfully much more inaccurate than most American news agencies. Unlike other agencies, Fox brings a lot more pundits on who say things like, "I've heard that..." and provide no source, no real information. Just opinion presented as if it were fact.

I'm in the same position here. I watch Fox when I want a laugh at their ignorance and bias (and weep atits impact on the American public).

Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

We all know that Fox is worth less than the dust from the winds carrying the scent of batshit. It should surprise no one since fundamental christians (who happen to run Fox) wants the game industry dead and burried.
Still is extremely unproffessional though! I cannot fathom why anyone tunes in to them at all.

I sent a counter email saying I support their decision and stating that the filth that is Mass Effect does not belong in anyones home. Depiction of animated cartoon intercourse is disturbing and anyone outside of Japan should not have to be exposed to such things. I feel bad for them also but that Anime Porn or whatever has clearly taken over their lives. Their obsession with tentacles and rope gags is beyond disgusting...

What's the background to this? Was it a segment on violence in games or something?

So count yourself lucky they had a panel member defending the game -_-

I tried finding the links but there's a few threads on this so I didn't bother.

Fox ran a story about Mass Effect having full nudity and sex acts in the game.

While it's true there's sex (presented in a modest soap opera way) if you cultivate a romance, there is no nudity (beyond a butt shot) and the way they told it made the sex seem more graphic than it was.  This from a network that airs Family Guy.

The panel was a joke as they only seem to know the mis-information fed to them.

EA sent Fox News a stinging rebuttal (another thread)

ME fans ripped apart Fox's 'experts' book on Amazon.  Over 500 people gave her book a 1 star review, with lots of great comments to the effect of 'Well, I never read the book, but I know there's lots of inappropriate sex in it and it could endanger your kids if left in the house."

Sorry, it was a fairly large story, so I though everyone had seen it. Here is the segment.
