Kotaku ran a really cool article on Mario and Zelda crossovers. Check out the full story here.

The very first Mario reference in the Zelda series can be found in the very first game—Manhandla, the third boss of The Legend of Zelda, is described by the Japanese (and only the Japanese) manual as a four-limbed, massive Piranha Plant.

Mario reference pops up very early in the game, with portraits of Mario hanging on the walls of some of the houses in Kakariko village. Furthermore, Chain Chomps appear as enemies in one of the dungeons, and there are also traps called Guruguru Bars strewn throughout the game which greatly resemble Mario’s Fire Bars.

In Majora’s Mask, the Happy Mask Salesman has several masks on his backpack—one of them being, as you can see, a Mario mask. Also, there are Mario bros. lookalikes in this game as well:Mr. Barten, the owner of the Milk Bar, looks like Mario, while each of the three Gorman brothers resemble Luigi.

Lol of course. Manhandla is a Piranha Plant... How did I not see this before XD .

I also still need to get that strategy guide. At least I have one for the N64 version .

Check out this limited edition Link's Awakening poster from TheYetee.com!
The 18" by 24" poster costs $35 plus shipping. Only 50 are available.

The rumored Zelda Netflix series has been debunked, but that didn't stop the funny folks at Smosh from making a parody trailer.

Enjoy!

New Zelda Rumor: Twilight Princess on 3DS

"First of all, the claim is from David Tarakanoff, an admin of a StreetPass group in Germany that's attending a Legend of Zelda Symphony tour concert. He claims to have got a StreetPass hit from a fellow 3DS owner that's been playing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 3D on a metallic blue New Nintendo 3DS XL system. The implication being that it'd likely be someone involved with Nintendo of Europe."

Didn't that Zelda TP 3D turn out to be a fake?

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Is that a new rumor or the same one from months ago?

Looks like a new rumor, but most likely just as fake.

I know I just love to complain about it, but honestly, feel very dissapointed with the franchise this gen. 3 remakes, a game that started as a remake and a spin-off. On top of that, the only new core Zelda game is delayed. Maybe those remakes are good financially, but as a fan I can't be happy as I expect new content.

I had great expectations of Nintendo this gen and looking at the first HD Zelda for Wii U was like a dream. The E3 2014 trailer looked so great, but I was blind when they showed us at the TGA an empty world. I tried to find excuses, but others were right: it was empty and not ready to be released.

For the first time in years I have to say that I have fear of what could be of the franchise. Aonuma is not capable in my eyes to keep in charge. Development cycles are getting bigger and games still have big flaws.

As much as I love Skyward Sword, there's nothing there that I can say it needed 5 years of development. We know that it was because they decided to implement the Wii Motion Plus, but, thinking deeper, that doesn't makes sense. They should have released the original game and speed up for a new one, a la Majora's Mask, that implements the Motion Plus.

I'm not pretty confident of what could happen in the future. My most beloved franchise is getting surpassed by others and rather than putting their best Nintendo is releasing remakes and delaying games.

I think I'm done with Zelda this gen and wait until someone else step in and try to evolve it rather than doing sidesteps.
