Thanks!

If you liked that music video, I wrote a sequel to that song.  As the first music video above is about recent loss, this other music video/song is about healing and moving on, and it's more uplifting:

Didn't know songs get sequels.

Anyway your song is pretty decent.

maybe "spiritual successor" would be a better phrase than sequel....

the two songs are related though--one song is about recent loss which I started to write about a month after my Dad died so the feelings of grief were fresh,

whereas the other song is about healing and moving on--I wrote the 2nd song about a year after my Dad died, so time had passed....

Thanks for the compliments!!

Yeah, a near miss will shake up anyone.  Towards the end of my Dad's life, he was getting repeated respiratory infections, which made him really sick and the first time he pulled through, I felt grateful, like I was being given extra time with him.  My Dad had me late in his life, so he died at 84, but he had dementia in his old age (plus he had a stroke too), so towards the end, much of the time, he couldn't remember who I was, but his dementia would make him do annoying repetitive motions and mumbling which after a while would get a little irritating sometimes, but after he pulled through his first respiratory infection when we all thought he was going to die, those annoying dementia behaviors didn't bother me at all, because I felt every moment I had with him was bonus time.  The one thing I learned from my Dad's illness and death is how precious life is, not mine or even my Dad's life, but all life.  So nowadays, it really bothers me in those war-torn countries where killing is common and life is treated like it is cheap, it is not....it is the most precious thing.

Nice song. It somehow reminds me of Luther Vandross's dance with my father~http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmDxJrggie8
Just beautiful. It's just sad because i have a dad but he wants nothing to do with me at all, i know this but your song still made my sad

Thanks!!

From some of these replies on this thread, I'm glad that some people have gotten something out of my music video.  My Dad was always one to be responsible and helpful to other people, and I think he would be happy if he knew that he was still giving and helping, even after his death, through a song that was written about him.

The power music can have on emotions is simply unbeaten.

Didn't find it sad. Actually thought it was kinda corny.

Great song! Yeah I've been with my mom since I was like 12 so I kind of know the feeling.

Great song. I have no attachment to my "father" at all so it wasn't emotional for me.
