PS3 should catch up to 360, or at least come close to 360's lifetimes sales in 2013. Both should cross PSP sales, and also approach GBA lifetime sales.

yea of course. it's along shot but i think the gap will be cut to 1.5m by end of March first wk of April, but i wouldn't bet on it.

i di some math and the current gap is 2,031,055, so depending on how this wk ends, PS3 could be below lets say 1.8m.
This is a GREAT sales thread.
I agree with you that Q4 last year for 3DS was better because of price cuts and major titles. Last year the 3DS had neither of that. This year seems to have a chance at beating both years for best 3DS Year.

Last Year Japan saw some decent doftware with Animal Crossing, Monster hunter 3G, and Bravery Default. It did about even in Japan. However the rest of the world only got Paper Mario and New Super Mario Bros. Do you really need 2 SMB in a year?
Plus unlike Super Mario Bros 2, 3, World, and Yoshi's Island, New Super Mario Bros 2 really doesn't look that different from the first. Still it's selling well.
Can't wait for 2013, 3DS has a strong year in all regions. Fire Emblem, Pokemon X & Y, Monster Hunter 4, SMT IV, Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, etc.
