Forums - Sales Discussion - What system will have the next game to push into the top 20 games of all time?

Nintendo likes to mega bundle all of their big games so...very likely Nintendo.

This is a lie.

WiiU with Nintendo land

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Again with the bundling.

The only game on here that got 90+% of it's sales through bundling is Wii Sports. All the others got there all by themselves. Even Super Mario Bros believe it or not.
The Mario / Duck Hunt package was just one of a million NES bundles, seeing that Duck Hunt was also sold seperately, as a bundle with the system on it's own (without Mario) and as a bundle with only the Zapper and it only reached 28m, that means that at the absolute most 20m Mario / Duck Hunt carts exist(ed). Which means Mario got half of it's sales by itself and none of the other games even come close to this type of bundling.

Anyway, OT: Most likely a Nintendo game will be the next. DS or 3DS.

Well, I think it will definitely be 3DS with one of the big 3 Marios...Bros, Kart or Land. Then we would look to WiiU where MarioBrosU will probably join the group in time.

Thanks for the support.

Some people seem to think Microsoft and Sony can't/don't bundle.

No problem.

The discussion's getting annoying .

Probably Nintendo since other than GTA San Andreas, Nintendo is the only company to have (MANY) games in the 20 million club. MS and Sony just don't produce games that are hardcore enough to sell that many copies.

i have a feeling that something from nintendo will enter this list....i think they could easily get like 4 or 5 more games lol

i think GTA could easily make it in...dont know after that!

Don't think so. It's for one platform remember, so it'd have to sell around 20 million on only 360 or PS3 to make the list.

damn, well probably nintendo. they have so many great exclusives.

The 3DS, with Mario Kart 7, seems the most likely to me. The other option is Nintendo Land. There's no other released game that I view as anywhere near as likely to make it.

Someone mentioned Diamond/Pearl, but that's just not going to happen. It needs slightly over 100,000, but in 2012, it sold just 85,000. The chances of it selling close to that in 2013 are very slim. The only way it's going to make 18.15 million is by getting adjusted upwards, which seems very unlikely at this time.

Another option would be Blizzard releasing data for total physical copies sold of World of Warcraft, and that number exceeding 18.15 million. The game obviously beats that in total, but quite a bit of that is digital, which VGChartz wouldn't add.

If you mean sales id say Mario of course. By awesomeness id say The Last of Us.
