Oh the irony if this actually becomes true.

Didn't Kevin Butler say this was third grade? I wonder what he thinks now.

He's thinking about how to get his next paycheck out of unemployment.

I hope they don´t actually implement this in the PS4. BTW. the WiiU gamepad seems less gimmicky now, doesn´t it :D (Disclaimer: That's a joke, please don't use it to start anything similar to a flame war.)

Sony needs to really do things which neither Microsoft nor Nintendo are doing. Nintendo did Wiimote so they did Move, Nintendo does SSBB so they did PSAS, Nintendo does Mario Kart so they did LBK and Nintendo has Mario so they tried to make Sack-boy a mascot.

Well said man. Its no wonder sony are falling behind. Yeah you can say eye toy but kinect actually has more interesting features in it then the simple thing sony came up with.

Its like sony is seeing what works for everyone else and following them. But the others do well because they are being original. Also sony don't really have any true mascot. Microsoft has master chief and nintendo has mario. To me sony are just doing all these 'new ips' they are being praised for just because they haven't found something that sells on the scale of gran turismo and a car doesn't really cut it for the face of your system. Sony are pretty much turning into their own worst enemy.

They've got a few bad habits which have really let them down.

1. Not seeing things through to the end. They essentially stopped development of the Eyetoy even though it was popular and showed potential. Microsoft took the concept of the Eyetoy and got billions in revenue that by all rights ought to have belonged to Sony.

2. Following after other companies and trying to copy their successes.

3. Not being bold enough to take things that they have developed in the lab and push them. They did create Move before Nintendo created the Wiimote but they didn't have the balls to push Move until Nintendo made billions off the Wiimote. Why is it that Sony created the first good e-reader but when people think of them they say Kindle?

Sony aren't the company that made the PS1 anymore. They aren't the company that made the walkman anymore. Why is it a company which has more talent than Microsoft and Nintendo put together in the games arena (overall) between hardware engineers and software engineers as well as natural advantages from past success with gaming getting their arses handed to them by these two companies?

Tease.

Well you basically said it: THEY.ARE.PUSSIES.

@1. They developed EyeToy: Yeah, EyeToy was great and successful. On the PS2. Where they actually had games produced for it. Where were those games on the PS3? I think (!) I know of 1-2 games which utilized the EyeCam (or whatever it is called) for the PS3, that's not nearly enough. Without games utilizing it, a gimmick is bound to fail. Microsoft instead released many games for Kinect (whatever we on the forum think of them, the games sold) and heavily bundled and advertised it (another think Sony doesn't do right)-> PROFIT!

@3. The may have developed something similar to the Wiimote in their labs, but that's the thing: No one knew about it, so no one gave a fuck. The moment Nintendo announced the Wiimote Sony had lost, Nintendo was the one associated with motion gaming, not Sony. And while EyeToy basically was motion gaming, peope saw way more possibilities with the Wiimote -> bigger success. The PSMove was half-assed at best. It immediately had the name "Wiimote copy", and Sony did nothing to disprove it. Also, no gaemz for move. While a few games were released and a few games recieved patches, no "big" games supported move (CoD would have been THE games to push Move), further branding it as a half-assed copy of the Wiimote. With the bad support from Sony it was bound to fail.

@E-Book reader: While I suspect that the kindle was just cheaper (I can't find the old prices, though), Sony's e-book reader lacked advertising (this really is a pattern). Amazon launched advertising evrywhere, the kindle was praised as THE e-book reader (which it eventually became). Also the kindle story, I don't think Sony had something similar as big as this store.

Kevin Butler has no opinion, he was a fictional character

Kevin Butler was Sony Playstation PR personified in a cool character. This talks a lot of SCE.

Called it. XD
