Our Queen fulfills all the roles of a President as head of state with the same costs, but also creates tourism and promotes the UK brand worldwide. There's no good economic argument for replacement, and as long as she has no power and doesn't speak out on day-to-day politics I'm OK with it.

the tourism argument is horseshit, as if people only come here because of her, you don't meet the old bag by coming to London ffs.

got nout to do with economics, it's to do with democracy and elitism, but if you find inequality in society okay then enjoy being a subject and essentially endorsing slavery by all means.

If your democracy is so precious to you, you'll have nothing to complain about when we overwhelmingly vote to keep the monarchy and execute any traitors/republicans.

I doubt it was anything like that much, heck the extra bank holiday actually cost the economy more...they are only their for pompous twonks like you who hate freedom and democracy and want to live in an aristocracy.

Quality post right here. If you're anti-monarchy can you not put together an argument that isn't ad hominem and is at least based on reality (that the UK monarchy is constitutional)

Monarchy and dictatorships have no place in governing. The representatives have to be elected by the people and be qualified for the job (just like every other job).

Monarchy is only around because its fodder for pink publications.
