It's interesting to compare Canada to USA:
NPD 2007 YTD:
---------CA-------US--------NA------CA%----US%
NDS - 0.70m + 8.50m = 9.20m - 7.6% - 92.4%
WII - 0.57m + 6.29m = 6.86m - 8.3% - 91.7%
360 - 0.39m + 4.62m = 5.01m - 7.8% - 92.2%
PS2 - 0.32m + 3.97m = 4.29m - 7.5% - 92.5%
PS3 - 0.27m + 2.56m = 2.83m - 9.5% - 90.5%
PSP - 0.25m + 3.82m = 4.07m - 6.1% - 93.9%
TTL - 2.50m + 29.76m=32.26m - 7.7% - 92.3%
Canada made up 7.7% of NA console units sold in 2007. 360, NDS, & PS2 match this average very closely, implying similar popularity to the US. What's striking are what doesn't hold this average. Canada made up just 6.1% of PSP NA sales easily well below any other console. Wii was decently ahead of the average, although it's difficult to gauge popularity V US when it's so supply constrained. PS3 would appear to be far more popular in Canada than the US, with the biggest difference from average of any console.
