The game doesn't even feel that powerful; why wouldn't the PS3 be able to handle it? Is it purely because of the large scale activity that's going on?

can't handle the environments and the lighting with that many things going on at once, I've seen battles where you see 50+ tanks from each side duking it out and air crafts all over the damn place on top of it with a shit ton of infantries everywhere blasting the fuck out of everything.

hadn't heard of planetside2, looks good. MMO (or specifically WoW) is something i miss from when i ditched PC gaming. would be cool if it came to the ps4.

I hear some people talk about this, yet I've never seen it. The only "large scale" battles I'm apart of are thousands of people constantly spawning at a sunderer inside a base, running rambo for a few seconds, and then dying from enemy soldiers. Repeat for hours until one side stops giving a damn. The only other scenarios are sniping fests (which I'll admit are fun because I like sniping, and everyone seems to suck at it in PS2).

You cool kids need to let me know where all the fun action is happening.

It cant even run Skyrim....with all those people running around and shooting it wont be able to do that l0l.

The trouble with Skyrim was the way objects in the world are kept and as you interacted with them like dropping items in dungeons they stayed in the world ,causing memory problems  but exacerbated more by the PS3's split memory so it is fairly unique , whereas the PS3 has games if I'm correct like resistance and MAG that had up to 64 and 256 player online , how large scale these battles where compared to Planetside 2  I don't know ? so  scale still might be the problem , if it isn't a problem it might be keeping that scale without having to downgrade the games graphics/frame rate , so the PS4 would simply be a much better fit for that type of game .

Insane draw distance and hundreds of guys shooting at once in a small area. It'd reduce the PS3 to ashes and tears.

Get into a good outfit and stay away from The Crown and TI Alloys. Those two places are just a never-ending insurmountable meat-grinder. The outfit I'm in camped an enterance to the NC warpgate on Indar. Shocking tanks with 10 rockets suddenly emerging from between the rocks on the cliffside will never, ever get old.

agreed op. i can see it on PS4 aswell.
