And why the assumption, that it is used for piracy? Do you not know the great homebrew? And honestly, all experience says, taht hacking a device has no effect on sales of either games or devices. The NDS and the Wii both got early jailbreaked and it was easy and without risk to do.


PSP didn't do so hot in software sales.  It only had 5 games sell over 4m.

PSP did ok, trending behind DS as close as possible during it's first years in attach rates. And then it fall into oblivion, being sandwiched between DS and smartphone gaming, trying to be Jack of all trades, but master of none. Piracy has nothing to do with it, if that's what you're referring to. PSV is just a continuation of PSP trend due to inability of Sony fixing (or even realising) the problem. To the best of my knowledge PSV is hacked in some way, but pirated PSV games aren't playable on it (probably PSP CFW only). So it's sinking without help of pirates.
