Good words. well lets get to work on our game and then once we move on a bit with the in game engine art etc we can get more people to join us such as sol as i believe he will come to our team. he just wants a demo first to show this isnt another "Lets make a game topic" so if you have steam add me on it man so we can get talking and working.

Yep. You don't need that kind of thing at the start anyway.

And great that you're learning the scripting language.

I am not to familiar with how RPG maker actually works, does one build set pieces and characters in a separate program (In this case Maya as I will be using..) and import it into the software, or are you limited to the art files within the program itself?

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

"Welcome to Pain, the second of three...You have dealt the first...now deal with me!!"

RPG Maker is 2D.

The last two times I got involved in a fangame, they went nowhere. If you can possibly get some basic design running and show us, I'll probably offer to help.

This happened to me too before. but then back the last time i tried this all our internets sucked so it made it hard to swap files etc etc. for me at least thats not the case no more.

Now, I don't know much about RPG Maker or its limits, but I'm very well-versed in traditional 2D RPGs, so if you need any help with ideas for the gameplay (particularly the level design and battle system), I'm here for you.

More importantly, I think I'll be of more help working on the game's presentation (particularly when writing dialogue and lore), and I definitely want to help coodinate writers, artists, and musicians in a way that conveys the game's narrative effectively. Because if I'm going to write, I know that I'm somehow going to end up being responsible for a good chunk of the plot and dialogue (it's a fact), which gives me a vested interest in making sure every scene I contribute to plays out at least as well as I imagined when I wrote it.

In other words, if this gets off the ground, you have my 100% dedication. And if you need an example of my writing experience, I'll be happy to oblige you.

I did make a few games on the rpgmaker a few years ago. I want to go back to it and see if I can make something.

I haven't read through the whole thread yet, but I'd like to submit my interest for this project! I got an education in copywriting (making and writing advertisement), and I know a bit about story telling as well. Now, I'm not native English speaker, but I know the difference between "their" and "they're" - which a lot of English speaker don't appear to do around here. Now, I don't mean to bash anyone - I merely wanna point out that I can find spelling errors even though I'm not native English.

So my skills is:
Story
Character development
Dialogue
Good at exchanging ideas with others; giving and taking

So if there's still room I'd like to submit my interest for consideration =)

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

My brother can help you, He already makes alot of music for indie game makers, He is mainly into rpg music. If your interested give me a pm.

haha just finished up reading the tread... Seems like we have a lot of writers and idea makers ;)

What we need is programmers though... Well, I should say YOU need them, since I'm not officially part of the team yet ^^ question is if you need yet ANOTHER writer/idea maker...

You may want to get rid of the whole "release on Steam and get monies" part for a while. Ambition is a good thing, but too much of it will kill you. Start slow with a small project just to make sure what kind of resources you're actually working with. Have people try it out and see what they think of it.

I'm too busy with my own projects atm but if you want an honest opinion on something then feel free to ask.
