Oblivion is great. A lot better than skyrim for me.

Give Morrowind a try if you can. It's really worth your time.

As you level up you'll soon discover that enemies get a LOT stronger a LOT quicker than you do, most people rather than spend hours grinding crap stats up just to not be crap in the stats that matter just slide the difficulty bar down as they level up.

 

Agree with all these. Worst game of the year I've played. Terrible levelling system with repetitive combat never seen before in RPGs. Terrible quest system and terrible repetitive environments.

Funny I saw this thread I just started playing this yesterday. Installed a bunch of aesthetic mods and the game loooks and seems pretty good but no where near skyrim level.

I played IV after V... Bad idea. Skyrim is so much better. Oblivion is not very much fun for me.

Its only quality was its huge, sprawling world with fantastic visuals. That was in 2006. Now, the game really isn't worth your time. Almost every gameplay element is broken or simply not much fun.

Oblivion was the first game of this gen I played (When I had a 360) and I loved it. But I did find it was a little buggy until I patched it.

Is the game good? As good or even better than Skyrim? Opinions here please - I don't wanna waste my time!!!

Oblivion was their first game on the HD twins

Then came Fallout 3 and then finally Skyrim

The team iterates and improves their game engine with each new release so going from Skyrim to Oblivion will be a severe sting.

You can still go back and enjoy Fallout 3 though because it is a different game design built on the same open world game engine.
