Forums - Sales Discussion - USA Pre-Order Chart Up ! - 08th December 2012

Anyone know where the Final Fntasy 14 Pre order disappeared to? I think it was around 80,000 last time I looked

Around the Network

God of War: Ascension is doing so well! And they haven't even shown anything to do with the single player story campaign yet! The beta is releasing soon which will boost the pre-orders significantly, then when they finally start revealing more about the story mode (the main reason millions of fans will buy the game) starting from next month January the pre-orders will skyrocket.

God of War III did about 1,400,000 million first week and I'm expecting GoW: A to beat it by 25% (1,750,000). It will have better legs to thanks to multiplayer and it will be the first God of War game ever to be bundled for Black Friday and the Xmas 2013 holidays (hopefully). I'm expecting this game to settle between 6.25 -6.75 million if it's bundled UC3 style, 5.75- 6.25 million if it's not.

GoW is a beast.

Anyone know the pre-orders that GOW III  had 14 weeks until it launched?

Let's see: GoW III ended with 424k pre-orders and had 241k pre-orders at the same point in time. Don't know why man-bear thinks it's overtracked lol

It's because Gears of War: Judgment is doing so badly that God of War: Ascension must be overtracked. And remember when comparing GoW: A to GoW III that GoW III was pre-orderable for a much longer period of time compared to GoW: A which only started taking pre-orders just over 7 months ago and they haven't revealed much about the single player yet a.k.a the main reason millions will buy the game for, it's going to pick up massively in the coming months.

@ioi, I have a question for you. When is God of War III's sales going to be fixed?

During June of 2012 Vgchartz adjusted all of the God of War games up after Sony announced the franchises sales at E3. However, God of War III was adjusted up from 4.37m to 4.95m from the 5th - 12th June then it must have been accidently readjusted back to it's original figures.

According to Vgchartz God of War III has sold 120k since then, so the new figure should now be 5.07m according to your tracking. Though If the game shipped 5.2 million as of the end of May 2012 (as announced by Sony) don't you think it would have at least reached that by now? Makes sense right?

Could you please fix this, if not please private message me explaining why not when it's clearly massively undertracked.

Where the hell is Beyond? Did beyond start taking pre-orders yet?

Sly 4 is shocking me! I just feel like that game isn't going to be that good.

VGChartz pre-ordern data hasnt exactly been accurate within last few months.

Do you have any specific examples of this?

Persona 4 Golden ended up with (don't have the exact number) 110-120k pre-orders but had a first week (with VGChartz figures) of 95k.

If 15,000 people cancelled their pre-orders on the week of release and not a single person actually went out and bought the game, that would be quite an feat.

That was a case of pretty heavy overtracking - Halo 4 & Blops 2, as Millenium mentioned, was a case of heavy undertracking.

On topic: Boring time of year :(

The Last of Us should get a big boost next week, pre-order promo has officially started. Can it out-pre-order God of War?

not a whole lot happening here. of note is 360 mg rising hasn't charted.

Thats "of note"?  I expect a bomb right there and critical slamming.  Dunno why, just a hunch.

You think this game will be critically slammed? I sort of doubt it since it's made by Platinum and the gameplay looks great

just a hunch.

Same here. I don't see much excitement over the game....Funny how everybody critisized MGS4 for being too much like a movie, which is probably why they went the complete opposite direction with Rising.(of course other factors as well)

I doubt this game will sell enough to warrant a sequel. Kojima probably knows that which is why he announced Ground Zeroes.

Persona 4: Golden was hugely overtracked. Pre-orders were actualy higher than first week sales....
