They need to change the GPS's voice to a male and have him at random times go "I know where I'm going, where not going to stop for directions"

googlemaps does that. they have turn by turn navigation with voice, or a map, or you can read step by step

I didn't get spoken commands until iOS 6 on my iPad 2.

guess i was wrong. turn by turn was android "exclusive." they didn't have it on apple devices.

Aaaah that's what caused my confusion as well because I've been using Google map's navigation ever since I got my (Android) phone. I thought Squilliam was joking when he said Google Maps didn't do turn by turn navigation.
