Yes to both. There is a limit of 3000 songs offline.

yeah but services like pandora, slacker and spotify have a ton of premium subscribers while unlimited isn't a big deal.

I thikn Unlimited has over a million subscribers.. and pandora is free..

Pandora has a premium service too hence why I mentioned premium. I don't think unlimited is doing very good if it's $12 for a year premium service. It's obviously a good idea to have a sale for PSN users. Either Sony is just this generous or the service is really struggling with such a discount.
