it's bitches, cool guys and more bitches and if you care, some games
and a bunch of nerds
Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
^Hot girls are only there because they are being paid.
Pretty crazy to see. Id be willing to bet that alot of this growth is coming from places outside the US. I have no way to substantiate that but it seems like the DotA, LOL and Starcraft II viewers seem to come from Asia. Undoubtedly those are the most popular games for people to watch. Besides nobody in the US seems to care more about watching any MLG tournaments besides Halo or Call of Duty. Or am I wrong?
I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

I feel bad for the Dr. Pepper girls. They have to spend 2 days handing out Dr. Pepper cans, getting people to Like Dr. Pepper on Facebook, and get hit on by a bunch of guys.
95% of gamers don't know they are noobs, the 5% who do won't be noobs for long

Of course they get paid. Just saying they probably wouldn't be there if they weren't being paid. However, there are a lot more hot females in a crowd at almost any other sport event when compared to a gaming league. I'm not trying to be too negative (yet I am) but this is about as big of news as stating that NASCAR is one of the fastest growing sports. Both aren't that fun to watch in my opinion (unless there is a wreck, perhaps if they threw the controllers through the TV or something then I would watch "professional gaming").

How so? "The 2012 season saw many title changes in the Pro Circuit. Starcraft II was brought on as the league's main title. Fighting games for the PS3 and League of Legends were announced as additional titles. Halo Reach is no longer on the Pro Circuit, nor is Call of Duty: Black Ops. Call of Duty was dropped from the circuit due to the cease of funding MLG received from PlayStation to put the title on the circuit. The 2012 tournament format has also drastically changed, with the introduction of seasonal events. The new format features 4 season, within each season are 2 Arenas and a Championship. The Championship features all Pro Circuit titles, and has a free SD broadcast option. The Arenas are PPV events and for now only feature Starcraft II, and are broadcast in HD from MLG's Studio in New York." |
But Halo 3 and Reach were once pro, and helped shape what it is today. Perhaps halo 4 and COD BO2 will take their place.
My quote was a reference to the past shaping the present.
