No, I don't think so. Although it would be nice. People will buy the systems without some kind of unique hook, or "gimmick," which is quickly becoming my least favorite video game buzzword after "hardcore" and "casual."
If the systems provide access to great games, and great experiences, they will probably sell well. I like motion controls and touch-screen technology, but ultimately I want great games. That's why I'm a proud owner of all seventh-generation systems, and will be a proud owner of all eighth-generation systems.
Also: I would like to see Microsoft invest more in game development before the next Xbox launches, but it sounds like that is happening from what I read in the OP. Of the big three, Microsoft is hurting most for exclusive content. I don't think Kinect 2.0 and Halo 5, 6, 7, 8 are going to be enough to win next generation.
