OP have you been living under a rock? Why post this now? Conversation is a year old. Should have posted it then. Its no different from Sony and Microsoft's naming. Except they're lazier and just add numbers.

This. I still remember freaking right the fuck out in April 2006 when Nintendo announced that their kickass "Revolution" was going to actually be called "Wii," but that certainly didn't hurt them.

The only problem with Wii U is chaining together vowel sounds like that.

I could just imagine the meeting Nintendo had for naming their next gen console.

"Alright guys the Wii was successful and now we are heading into next gen (finally catching up to ps3 and 360 LOL). What should we call it?! How about Wii....*Cop car siren goes by Nintendo office*...U! EFFIN GENIUS!"

Regardless of intent, there lacks actual purpose to this thread. So I ask, why make this thread? Just to make a joke. It's not even a good joke, usually these are more thoughtful. If you guaged it better towards actual concern instead of pointing at stupidity, it might have come off better. There isn't much to it beyond the title. It is comical only in its absurd abrasion, which walks a thin line with site rules.

I am just generally confused at your attempt.

Well, excuse me for bringing some original content to the forums.

Take a look at the recent topics and basically all you will see is news articles. Personally, I find that boring. But if you like to use gamrconnect as a news site then feel free to have that opinion.

Fair enough, I guess. Though I'd disagree and say that there are plenty of non news topics most of the time and that news topic are generally more meaningful than the abundant spammy copy threads. As for this thread it is not original. Next time more wit less troll.
