Forums - PC Discussion - Crytek specs out Crysis capable computer for $900

Also, aren't new video cards supporting HDCP (HDMI) as well? I'd sure love to connect my PC up to a huge 1080p TV and play games.

*edit* Oh, and my KDS 19" CRT monitor only cost me around $100-150. It was half the price of a LCD of the same size. I bought an Acer 19" LCD with only 8ms response time and I realized that I must have better eyes than glowing reviews people gave it because it made me sick (heacache/vomit feeling) to play games with the ghosting and low refresh rate. I sent it back and picked up a CRT and have been happy ever since.

^What about a 40"HDTV with VGA port? :)

you could use that as a monitor lol would be quite nice actually.

BTW for a gaming rig.. you need a gaming mouse, mousepad, and keyboard. Preferably mostly Razer for hardware, mousepad should be stealpad.

I don't have all that. I just use the stand MS mouse and standard HP keyboard and I game just fine.

lol, I use the keyboard that came with my parent's dell computer that's 4-5 years old. Yea, I sort of claimed it as mine and gave them another one. Now for a mouse, I used to use the standard dell optical mouse that came with my parent's computer and performed just fine with it, but I have switched to a Logitech G5 gaming mouse about 1.5-2 years ago.

I would say the mouse is more important than the keyboard because having the standard optical mouse go into sleep mode (or whatever it's called) when you don't move it for a second, or barley lifting it off the table and it can't sense anything, or even the fact that the laser can't sense well on some surfaces are some prime problems with gaming.

Also, I've never used a mousepad in years. . .

Not a bad deal really. That is a pretty good setup.

I would pull out Intel and MOBO and replace with a comparable AMD + MOBO and then use 64bit Vista.

Pricing would probably come out similar or even less.

My 22" widescreen monitor cost $170...there's always good deals for PC parts...console gamers seem shocked sometimes that PCs don't cost a fortune.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

my PC was 450.. no wonder why I cant run it. lol
My 2 year-old pc should be valued at less than $350 right now (tower only), and I can run Crysis, so why can't you?

My PC has better specs and i still get some framerate drops on high settings.

The C2D setup is most likely much better than any comparable AMD setup ATM. It's also 64bit capable, so you can run a 64bit OS on it if you want to.
