Joe Biden has the most to gain from this, don't put a gun in his hand.

I mean, every President has a bunch of people trying to kill them.

You just don't tend to hear about it.

I don't think there will especially be any increase in attempts to kill him.

I mean... his Vice President is Joe Biden.

I think i'd feel safer with Bush as vice president... and I was not a fan of Bush.

Biden is the kind of president that would start a war because he though another world leader was challenging his manliness.

Joe Biden is a HUGE Democratic Hawk... who played a big part in presenting onesided information to other democrats to get the war to go on.

If the Bush Administration ever got arrested for Iraq for misrepresenting Iraq, Biden would be arrested right alongside them.

The guy has a short temper, and is a gaff machine.  Not so much like Bush to where he sounds stupid... but more he likes to angrily insult people and often make up facts on the spot to try and win an argument as if tape recorders, memory and research didn't exist.

Basically propaganda to hurt his reelection chances.

Actually, generally assassnation threats and attempts INCREASES ones chance of election.

If it was "propagnda" released by anyone, it would likely be Obama or an Obama supporter.

I mean, think about every TV show you've ever seen, faked assassnation attempts are always done to boost public opinion and rally around the candidate.  Like Khan mentioned earlier, assassanations tend to open the door for legislation that wouldn't be passed otherwise.

Only notable exception was Lincoln, but it opened the door for "More Northern" polcies then lincoln wanted, and hurt the assassain anyway,

He's the president, his life is always in danger. Despite all the rhetoric though, I don't think he is in any more danger then Bush was. Historically, presidential assassins have typically been mentally unstable and possess ideologies or motivations far off the beaten track of even the most extreme political ideologues.

He'll only be in any less danger if we make further efforts to keep the mentally unstable. But eh, who cares about that, right?
