Haha...theres nothing to "clarify" genius... They're shipped numbers, as they always are.

Theres a lot wrong here... I'll point some things out.

The american sales are out of the picture here. They weren't adjusted at ALL. Even after the shipped numbers came in. And you are right, there are 200k copies of GoW III sitting on the shelves just in North America.

417,000 was NOT in Japan. You are totally wrong about that. They're Japan + ASIA sales. And apparently God of War III was pretty darn big in mainland Asia.

And guess what ? The adjustments happened in Europe and "Others" where Vgchartz tracking is weakest. So its an error which caused the adjustment to be removed, that much is clear. And out of that only 30k was in "Others" and 500k in Europe.

So if these numbers we have right now are correct, then Vgchartz were right all along about God of War III sales ? Even the European numbers ? Is that what you're saying ?

There is something obviously wrong here...maybe Vgchartz are figuring out the exact amount they should adjust GoW III up...Maybe the previous upward adjustment was a little too high ? I don't know..thats for the sales staff to decide

btw, God of War III sales have wildly exceeded your expectations, even at these pretty low numbers (compared to shipped figures), haven't they ? I remember you predicting something under 3 million :P

I was pretty sure Sony Japan only covered Japan and the rest of asia was covered in SOE.  Did that change?

As for what I predicted.  Couldn't say, don't remember.  If I had to guess i believe  I thought it'd sell less then GoW2, since another legacy game was on pace to sell less then it's most popular PS2 generation number.   Though i don't think i put a number to it, i rarely do.

Either way dude, your freaking out and jumping to conclusions over nothing.  You may be right... you may not.

Though I suppose looking at the screen name it's a bit much to ask for impartiality.

(*4): Including SCE Asia territories

Thats in the shipped numbers table.  You must have missed that.

And the part about your prediction was a joke to make it seem as if you were a part of the supposed "agenda" against god of war :P Sorry if it came out wrong...

But seriously though, VGC decide to adjust the game up 500k in Europe and suddenly decide it the adjustment wasn't necessary afterall all within the space of a week ? Surely that is odd ?

Just because I like God of War doesn't mean I'm not "impartial". I'm considering the possibility of the initial adjustment being too high or a site glitch whereas other people seem to think VGC hate god of war enough to fuck with its fans...lol... Its quite possible that I'm the one person that has been looking at this realistically without pointing fingers at a conspiracy :P

It's not normmal.  Which is why my initial thought would be "They could of uncovered some new info that proved their past prediction right."

It's happened a few more times then you'd think though.

I remember it used to happen a lot with NPD numbers when they were available.

Bump! - Updated OP 25th August, 2013.

God of War III - The first hack 'n slash to ever reach 6 million units sold! It's either already happened or going to happen with a few weeks, amazing for a game with only a miniscule amount of bundling at launch and nothing at all after a few weeks, no multiplayer or DLC to help keep it from being traded in and really poor marketing outside of the US.
