Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 2nd Wii U tablet screen causes fps drop, Nintendo Japan twitter via engadget

Much as more intensive local multiplayer has done for years, like with 4 player on Mario Kart Wii

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

For generations, 30 FPS was the standard for video.
Now it is deemed unacceptably inadequate by some.
Times have changed.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Update: In a follow-up, Nintendo Japan has posted on Twitter that there's a price to pay if two Gamepads are active. Frame rates drop to about 30 fps if two are active; any games that really want that extra controller won't be quite as glass-smooth. On the upside, it's possible to switch one off with a smooth transition; there won't be a need for theatrics just to switch to a solo game.

iiiieeuw 30fps... that's so this gen...

I think for alot of graphic intentisve games where frame rate quality is key, such as fighting games and many shooters, you cant really have fps degergartion.

That was expected, there is no miracle in computing everything is a trade-off.

All next gen games will have to be 31 fps per second.
30 is now unnapcetable!

(actually I really care for fps, but to a hard-hardcore gamer to complain about this is just ironic when all "graphic kings" are like that)

It might mean that some games are better played with the WiiU Pro Controller.  That would remove the need to send a signal to a third screen.

Ironically, I watch video tapes at 10 FPS every day.
