Sorry this might be a noob question...but what exactly is cloud gaming ;x?

Instead of local processing hardware (your console) playing the game, your controller inputs are sent to a remote location where all the proccessing is handled, and then 'video' of that game is streamed right back to your tv.

It means that the power of the device you're playing on does not matter, as all the proccessing is handled at another location. The only thing determining the quality of the games is your internet connection.

Wouldn't lag be an issue?

Yes, it is! but improving all the time. It's the big question surrounding cloud gaming.

Yes, it is. Which is why it will never be the future unless we have lag-free internet.

the lag isn't too bad with onlive and the last time i tried it was before their release. Its probably gotten even better now.

Yep, just click one of the demos and it starts streaming to your pc. Worked great on my measly 10mbps connection, go for it.

Well. Have you played online mp games on gaikai or onlive?

Well, that's unexpected to say the least.

If it is true, which one will they buy? Onlive that already works or Gaikai, which has said a lot but has done nothing?

i would put money on Gaikai because last week they said they have a major announcement for e3!

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/gaikai-will-announce-something-at-e3-that-might-change-the-future-of-game-consoles/

Maybe.

@Basil_ the downside of Onlive/gaikai (lag aside) is that you won't "own" the games. In Steam/Origin/GoG/etc. you still have to download the games so you own a little bit of them, and you can play off-line. But in Gaikai/Onlive you own nothing, and there's the obvious need to be always online.

I'm not ready for that future. And maybe I'll never be.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I'll try it when I get to a PC. I'm on my PS3's browser right now. You think it'll work on my PS3's browser?

so Sony games will be available on my pc, on my tv and elsewhere?

I doubt Sony will allow that unless Sony don't plan on releasing a PS4. In which case, our bet is cancelled, of course.
