It seems you just can’t get enough of Harvest Moon: The Land of Origin, as developer Marvelous reveals the game has enjoyed a massive debut week of sales, moving more than 80,000 units and taking home the record for biggest-selling debut of any Harvest Moon title in revent years.

The site is also quick to point out that while these first-week sales are actually quite low compared to many other franchises, Harvest Moon titles tend to fall into the “sleeper hit” category: The 2010 release Tale of Two Towns sold a meagre 63,000 copies in its debut week, but went on to sell more than 230,000 copies over all.

So, LTD will be between 250-300k?

I believe Rune Factory 4 will also become the series top seller when it releases on June.

Harvest Moon was the shit back on the SNES now they've sort of killed the appeal much like Activision did with CoD. I'm personally surprised it's still popular. Rune Factory is a great spin off though, wouldn't mind seeing other HM spin offs like RF.

Oh, do as I do. Buy one per generation - usually the first. The game feel fresh and not milked if you follow that.

I acctually consider buying a 3DS only so that I can finally play a rune factory ;P I really liked Harvest Moon on SNES and on PS1 (though my copy got scratched and fucked up everytime I tried to marry T.T)

i think RF4 will outsell them all
