Did you buy the GC at launch?  It did have Super Smash Bros Melee and Luigi's Mansion at launch.  Melee was perhaps one of the best launch games since Super Mario Bros.  I believe Star Wars Rogue Squadron was a launch game which was superior to the PS2 version.  Super Monkey Ball was also a launch game which was pretty damn neat at the time (I haven't touched the series after #2)  Anyways, the Virtual Boy easily tops the list for worst Nintendo system unless you don't even want to mention the name. 

That's the first time I heard there was a PS2 version.

I thought there was a Rouge Squadron 2 version on PS2.  I just remembered people trying to say PS2 had superior graphics and that game being shown to support the GC.  I suppose that is what confused me.  People trying to stick up for GC posting Rouge Squadron screenshots.  Sorry it was only on GCN I suppose.  I really have little knowledge of all the PS2 games (especially 3rd party offering) considering I don't care for Sony.  Let me just say that if they released Rouge Squadron 2 on the PS2 that it wouldn't look nearly as good as it did on the GC.

I agree with the first two (especially Mario) but definitely not Zelda.  Wind Waker was amazing.

And the first Metroid Prime is the best game of the series, IMO, and my favorite game that entire generation.

There was definitely a marked difference between PS2 and GC games.

I had a PS2 with about 30 games at that stage and was never wowed by anything except GT3 (though MGS2 looked nice). I got Starfox Adventures and Prime with the Cube. Now just imagine how much better those games look than anything on the PS2. It was clear. This small box with the minidiscs is shitting on my PS2. How people never got the 'cool factor' from that is beyond me.
