Well it appears to be that all the major publishers are rushing to assure consumers that sequels to their favorite games are on their way. First THQ announced Saints Row The Fourth, then Assassins Creed3 and Call Of Duty 2012. But it would appear EA doesn't want to be left behind either and EA president Frank Gibeau announced BattleField 4 will come.
The fact is the announcement was reportedly made at The University of Southern California during a speech by Frank during which he talked about the future of the BattleField franchise. During his speech he said "There is going to be a Battlefield 4."Now this is a given but nobody expected EA to actually come out and mention the title this soon.
Just a while back Dice confirmed that they would be releasing another Bad Company title, likely Bad Company 3 so nobody expected EA to mention BattleField 4. Also EA has stated alongside Dice that they don't want the franchise to become an annual release like Call Of Duty, but with Bad Company 3 and Battlefield 4 now both officially confirmed you need to wonder how EA will space the games out.
Right now people are trying to guess dates and some are suggesting Bad Company 3 could be coming in 2013 with BattleField 4 releasing within a year or two of BC3. Of course that is entirely speculation on behalf of some fans, but with EA confirming BF4 you gotta wonder when they will launch it, whether it is already in development...etc...etc...
We all knew that BattleField 4 would be a given considering the over whelming success EA found with BF3, but did you expect EA to confirm it this early? Do you think the game is already in development or is EA's President simply saying that they are going to make one sooner or later? Do you think its smart for EA and Dice to keep BattleField from becoming a yearly franchise? What about Medal Of Honor do you think EA may try to space out its releases of MoH and BF to double team CoD?
What are your thoughts?
