Sadly, many times in the games industry, lesser known games get crushed, engulfed, burried - pick you metaphor - by the big blockbusters, despite at times being of very high quality, sometimes even of greater quality than some of these major hits that recieve all the attention, advertising, and gamers' money. What would you say are some of the latest in the long and tragic line of underrated games, either in terms of games that you feel didn't get fair reviews, or games that simply didn't get the sales and attention they deserved?

For my money, here are among the most underrated hidden gems of this generation:

Tales of Vesperia
Zack and Wiki
Little King's Story
Dawn of Discovery for Wii
Ivy the Kiwi for Wii
Brutal Legend
Red Steel 2 (albeit a bit short)
Toy Soldiers

Yakuza 3/4. The amount of work that has gone into make these games is astounding, considering nobody (outside of Japan) even knows of their existance. Truly amazing games, long games as well. I have clocked over 50 hours into the fourth one and I still have stuff I can do.

Socom: Confrontation - One of my favorite Mp games of this gen. It's Meta is in the 60s though.

I platinum'd Yakuza 4, it took me over 100h, don't remember exactly how long. Awesome games.

Excite truck on the wii. It had heaps better controls than Mario Kart wii. The most enjoyable racer i ever played.

Also Top Spin 4 on XBox/PS3 is hands down the best tennis game ever made yet hardly anyone bought it!?!?!

And yeh Red Steel 2 had pretty awesome controls! definitely underrated.
