Perhaps it's time for mario platformers to evolve and get a decent story, they've done it with gameplay as many here claim so why couldn't they do it with story? o.0

I don't like Mario Galaxy because there is not enough car racing in it

I was playing Galaxy and Mass Effect at the same time and they are complete opposites. One is pure game play platforming with genius level design and the other is a fully customizable RPG with an epic story. They are both arguably the best in their genres and perfect the way they are.

If galaxy had hours of story driven cut scenes, I would probably want to skip past them. I wouldn't care, I would just want to get the next star.

Most of the time when I play a game I just skip the story and hate when I can't skip it.

Interactivity > Story in a game. Just look at the top 25 best selling games there not many that has a great story but all of them have great gameplays and offers new ways to players to interact with the game.

 You should really strive to get 120 stars in SMG.. maybe something special will happen.. maybe

Also, while this guy's opinion is valid and mostly true ( in the regard that Mario games have no story), it still gets a FAIL from me. His words are just full of jealousy and envy. Must be hard that a game with no story is close to beat the combined sales of your two games.

And he works at Sony so... do the math.
