Gears of War 3 players will be able to purchase a "Season Pass" of the game's first four DLC packs for 2400MSP ($30), Microsoft announced today, a 33 percent discount from purchasing the content individually.

The Season Pass will be available for purchase upon the game's release September 20, and will grant players access to the game's DLC as it sees release starting in November. Season Pass purchasers will also get exclusive access to an exclusive Liquid Metal Weapon Set, the company said.


Microsoft also announced that Gears of War 3 has now attracted over 1.3 million pre-orders, roughly matching the number of players who participated in the game's popular beta test earlier this year.

Gears of War 2 saw sales of over 2 million copies in its first weekend on sale in 2008. Thew first two games in the franchise have combined for over 11 million sales to date.

So it doesnt mention if its WW or just NA?

VGC preorders 20 August:
Gears of War 3 => 1,415,535

So VGC has it slightly overtracked if it's USA or extremely overtracked if it's WW. Most likely the former.

It's Gamasutra... US likely.

4 months ago they announed that Gears of War 3 reached 1 million pre-orders worldwide so I assume that 1.3 million is also worldwide.
