He's talking about the number of 360s on shelves, which is 700k. As far as I can tell, you were talking about sales vs shipments just for this year, but you should realize that you can't seperate it like that since some of what was shipped then was sold in this year and there is therefore more in stock than 200k since there was 500k stock in the channel already. Anyway, if there was only 200k in stock, then the 360 would be overtracked rather than undertracked, wouldn't it?

H emay be a fine analysts for all i know.... but he is also a bit of an idiot for saying the 360 is a strong "contender" for taking 2nd place... 

It is the only contender.   There is nothing else in contention.
