Sony needs the Playstation 4 out in 2012 to challenge Nintendo's Wii-U. A year before Sony launch a console would be like the Xbox 360 with the Playstation 3, and Microsoft still has a 3 million lead with its console. Microsoft's Xbox 360 did have a slow start cause most held out on Sony's console but that might not be the case anymore cause they have proven themselves as a viable company with the strongest online. I remember last gen when Microsoft said that it was hard to catch up to playstation 2 lead with its year long headstart. And if the Wii-U takes off like the Wii did then its deja vu all over again.

i dont believe it...also i dont want a PS4 in 2012...too soon for a console that got soo much more potential...

I don't think this article has enough credibility to even be considered a rumor.

This seriously sounds like something a kid made up during recess at school.

Anyway, both MS and Sony have stated a 2014 launch or later for their next home consoles. They are going to put the Wii U in a Dreamcast position (though the Dreamcast was certainly more exciting).
