Considering all the PS3/360 ports to Cafe, I highly doubt it is "significantly" more powerful. Chief.

Thanks Mr. Fanboy, but I was looking for a serious and educated reply from someone.

This isn't school kiddo, this is a gaming forum. You're going to get gaming related opinions/responses from people. I am fully entitled to post anything I like as long as it doesn't violate the ToS. If you aren't interested in my response, don't respond to it. If someone doesn't share the same opinion as you, they must be in the wrong? Anyways, 6 years late I would hope it is a little more powerful than the PS3/360. Both of which are "significantly" lagging behind in terms of "tech" these days, as far as the advancement of PC gaming tech.

Since my response doesn't mesh with exactly what you were looking for, and since you are clearly more educated (lol) than anyone else here, I can expect a well thought out, insightful response. Pointing to all the flaws in my post, since it clearly doesn't jive well with your criteria of what a 'good' post should be.

I'll sit back and wait for the inevitable response. I'm sure you can't help yourself.

Just because we are on a gaming forum doesn't mean it's alright to post obtuse comments.

his opinion isnt any less speculation than anyone elses, theyre just as relevant

Someone asked earlier what we could expect graphics-wise from this baby.  If the rumors are true and it does indeed use a modified version of the HD4850 1GB video card you can expect results similar to this:

The aforementioned video card is the recommended one for this game (The Witcher 2) from the publisher.  It'll likely be more refined versions of current gen games.  Better framerates, pixel refresh rates, true 1080p, better anti-aliasing, and modern shaders.  This doesn't take into account the amount of RAM they decide to use.  Nintendo has always used fast RAM in the past, but the quantity will determine how good the graphics will be.  If it has 2GB or so of RAM it will allow for greater draw distances and no popup (can't believe modern games still have popup).  The extra RAM would allow for more data to be buffered at once so the processor doesn't have to do it on the fly.

I'm no expert on hardware, but that much I do know.  Either way, I think Nintendo fans are in for a real treat.  Zelda HD, or Metroid HD will be amazing!

Edit:  Can you pull that image up in your browser OK? I guess you can right click and choose "view image".

God i love this...."Cafe is more powerful" and then "No it's not". The fact is NOBODY HAS A CLUE....so please stop your childish and petty arguing. We don't even know what "Cafe" will look like. All we have is some little box that may very well be just a Dev Kit....if anything at all. Nintendo is the most secret company out there, they keep their secrets better then anyone. I don't care about "Triple Cores" unless Nintendo says it. We only have like 2 weeks to go and we will all know for sure. And then you can resume your childish and petty arguements.

seriously, wait until we get the specs for these articles? :D I mean it's what 2-3 weeks from now..so close

and if the next ps and xbox are way stronger and similar to each other, within 2 years or so we will be in a similar situation of 3rd parties giving up support on the cafe. but all these speculations are useless without solid info

The difference between the Wii's 3rd party situation and what could potentially happen to the Cafe is primarly due to the releases of rival consoles.

For the entire of the 7th gen so far, high profile and quality third party support was divided  between the DS/PSP (DQIX, MGS PW, etc) and PS3/360 (MGS4, GTA4, etc), with the Wii only getting the odd game that fell inbetween (MH3, RF:F, etc).  By the time the Wii launched, the 360 had about a year advantage and within a few months the PS3 was launched in all major regions.  The Wii did not have an early lead at all.

What I expect to happen with the Cafe (and keep in mind I know buggar all about it atm) is that in the time period between its launch and the respective launches of PS4/720 (which I expect late 2013), the cafe will gain good third party support both from ports of 7th gen HD games and to a lesser degree exclusives.  Upon the release of the PS4/720, Western 3rd party support will almost entirely switch to the new platforms and the Cafe will be in a Wii esque situation, getting a few downgraded ports and not too much else.

Where I expect the difference between Wii and Cafe to be is concerning Japanese support.  While the PS4/360 are going to get games like the mainline FF and MGS games, I believe the medium profile Japanese support will mainly be on 3DS, NGP and to a lesser degree Cafe.  Upon the release of PS4/720, I expect lots of Japanese developers to keep to Cafe/360/PS3 multiplat or Cafe exclusive rather than make the jump to PS4/720 multiplat.  This is where I expect the difference between Wii and Cafe will be.

I agree on all your points, I think you might be on to something on the Japanese front especially. The only thing is I would add that it was not only the release of the rival consoles but also the nature of those consoles. PS360 are very similar to each other bar some differences. Wii was very different spec wise, approach wise and for a long time target market wise. so from the devs point of view making multiplats ps360 was easier for them. It would be interesting to see how the next three consoles differ from each other. If the ps xbox are similar in capabilities and have a significant difference between them and cafe, nintendo is looking at another dire 3rd party support situation few years down the road, but I agree, Japanese devs given how popular Ninty and sony are there as oppose to xbox might opt to make multiplat games that would work on those two platforms.

But yea it will all come down to the nature of the future three consoles :) I'm very interested to see the dev approach to NGP as well. another console, at least for now, we have yet to learn a lot about. Either way some exciting times lies ahead! :D good too I was kinda getting bored

From what I recall, Project Cafe is "significantly" more powerful than the ps3 and 360. I don't know why he keeps referring to it being equal to those current consoles in terms of power.

because some have saied it was NOT significatively more powerfull AND because Wii was also more powerfull than GC,neverthless, it was closer to GC than to PS3/360: it got port from PS2/GC

this time, the new ninty console is more powerfull than the PS3/360 but it still boxe in the same category from what we know : like the Wii, at it time, that was (is) not HD !

ahh, completely agree too

all depend on how powerfull are the 2013 Xbox720/PS4 ... do they make a step from project cafe ? or do they stay in the same order ?
