Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Will you buy the Xbox 720 on Xmas 2012 or just resist it?

It would be really dumb of M$ to release a new console this soon after releasing Kinect.

So many factors to consider until then.

There will be no new MS console till 2013

I can guarantee you that.

What is this assumption that they will release a new console based on? Seriously did I miss something?

Anyways, whenever 720 comes out, a lot goes into whether or not I would buy it.

Does it launch at the same time as the PS4, if so then NO i would buy a PS4 instead.

Does the Wii2 feel like a new gen and have games that are leaps and bounds ahead of 360 and PS3, then NO, I buy a Wii 2 first and skip the 720.

Does the wii2 merely play catchup to the PS3 and 360 instead of vastly surpassing them, AND does the 720 launch at least 1 year before the PS4, then YES- I buy the 720 in this case because there is nothing like having the first console of a new generation.

(and in this scenario, the wii2 would be first in the next gen in name only, the true omg moment would come with vastly different looking games which the 720 will most certaintly have. imo.)

I'll probably be too busy writing on the forums how angry I am about the NES 6 to get one.

Tease.

i prefer sony but if there was a new xbox i would buy 1 as long as the graphics are amazing i want to blow my 50 inch 3d plasma away :)

i wouldnt buy any system on launch.

you have to pay the highest price for what? being used as a test dummy for any hardware failures? (YLOD, RROD, disk errors like ps2 and xbox) and you only get to play a handful of games of whcih only a couple are any good.

its simply not worth it, id rather wait for improved hardware, more better games to be released and by doing so save a bit of cash too. and in that time, catch up with all the games i missed in the previous gen.

And we have a winner!!!!

Depends on whether PSN is up by then.
