It's impressive, isn't it. Those are the people who have the most disposable income.

While the correct answer is called a media overhype on something they dont understand so they parrot what people say that they think are crediable and the mass market eats it up, on the scale not seen since the push for war in Iraq and a marketing team that must have all sold their souls to the devil himself....

I would like to say its because people that own and like the Playstation 3 and XBOX360 use the letter "y" instead of  the word "why" in their posts, making everyone beleave that people that own those consoles are r-tards and therefore push them away from buying them.

Wii outsells the 360 and the PS3 because it's cheaper, it's smaller, it's less threatening looking, it's cheaper, it's got a pretty blue LED bar on it's front, it's got some of the best selling franchises in history on it, it's cheaper, it's got Wiimotes, Mario, Sonic, Wiisports, CNN, USA Today, Old Folks Homes, and last but certainly not least it's cheaper. Not to mention, it costs less.

I have to say I pretty much agree with most of what you guys have said.

In short the reasons for buying a Wii come from numerous areas. For some its an economic choice, for some its to supplement their HD console, and for others its the first time they have ever found gaming appealing. There are of course many reasons but the fact that there are so many reasons combined with the "ripe for change" status of the market makes the Wii a hot commodity.

Also, as for the average age of the Wii user, I don't think the average is a very good indicator, I would be much more interested in the median age.

 why has the wii sold millions of consoles in the 400-800 range?  many of its owners wouldn't even consider a 360/ps3...if wii was 800 and ps3 300 and 360 300, i'd still buy the wii

Obviously price point isn't the only reason an item sells well, it's merely 1 of many factors, direhand fans will support their system regardless of price. Also, are you suggesting that 'millions' of Wii's have been sold for uber jacked up prices, through ebay and the like? Because I highly doubt that the ebay purchasers of Wii's are in the millions this early in the generation......unless you have a source for that.

b) casuals are the reason wii sells, not diehards...why do people still fail to realize this? that is the entire reason wii will sell 200mil+ consoles...so many people who have NEVER bought a console before are buying/bought a wii
c) there is more than just ebay...there is also craigslist and other sources for resale...tho i do agree 'millions' is bad choice of words...more like roughly 1mil+...millions sounds like 2mil+
